BANS (Build a Niche Store) Makes Money

Hi everyone, hope you are having a great week so far. I haven’t posted to this blog in a few days so I would like to give you an update on my BANS(Build a Niche Store) sites.

First of all, my BANS sites are making money. Yeah! So far this month I’ve made just over $91. It’s not bad considering the fact that I haven’t done much advertising. Since I started my BANS sites I’ve made a total of $219.16. I started my first site in April. So I would say that yes, BANS does work.

I’m sure that if I spent more time promoting my sites that I would probably be making more, but considering two hundred bucks for not doing much work is not bad.

My advertising has consisted of Craigslist ads and writing a few articles and submitting them to article directories. The Craigslist ads have given my sites direct hits to certain products that I’ve advertised, and the articles have given some of my sites backlinks. Both have generated some traffic.

Way to Go Red Wings!

Hello everyone. I hope you are having a great week. I just want to dedicate this post to the Detroit Red Wings, the Stanley Cup Champions once again. I know there are a lot of hockey fans out there, but for those of you who may not be, the Detroit Red Wings brought home the Stanley Cup for the fourth time in 11 years. They really are a great team. Since I’m from Hockeytown, I am especially appreciative of all their hard work they’ve put into the season. The players are truly dedicated to their sport and are also upstanding citizens in the community.

The lesson that we can all take away from this is that hard work, dedication, and persistance can truly pay off if you can believe it in your heart. Don’t ever let anyone try to stop you from your goals and dreams. Even if your goals and dreams are outside the box.

Everyone has a place in this world and a role to play. What may be right for you, may not be right for the next person. Follow your inner calling and fulfill your goals and dreams. Nothing is impossible.
Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Motivate Yourself with Rewards

Hello everyone, thanks for reading my blog. Today’s post is about motivation. We all need motivation from time to time especially when things are slow. If you’ve been reading my blog then you all know that this blog is about making money with your home business. But in order to make money and be successful we need to motivate ourselves from time to time. Maybe you’re just starting out with your business, or maybe you’ve been at it for a while. Maybe you might be feeling a little stagnant lately. We all have these days. I just want to tell you that it’s okay to reward yourself.

You’ve all heard the saying that goes something like “all work and no play makes…”. Well it’s true. If all you do is work, work, work, then when do you have time to enjoy the fruits of your labor. Even if you’re reward is something small like a cocktail, a glass of wine, beer, a hot bubble bath, or whatever you need to do. Just be sure that it’s something just for you.

In order to be successful, we need to work at it. We need to work everyday at it, however large or small the task may be. There is no such thing as getting rich overnight, unless you win the lotto. But for most of us who work hard, will reap the benefits in time. Our goals should be long term wealth, not necessarily get rich quick. Easy come, easy go. Work hard at it, then enjoy the long lasting rewards. That is, if you are serious about it.

Think about these things when you’re ready to give up. When you feel like you are getting nowhere. Keep your chin up, work hard, accomplish something everyday (even if it’s small) and you will be one step ahead.

Beware of Email Scams

Hello, I hope everyone is well. Today I’m just going to do a brief post about email scams. They are everywhere. Don’t feel that just because you have the best internet security system out there that you won’t receive a suspicious email at one time or another. These scam emails are usually from an unknown sender. They may have a common name like Sue Smith to make you think that you might know this person from somewhere. The subject of the email could be anything from “no subject”, “your account”, or “inheritance”, or just about any clever words to lure you into opening the email. These suspicious emails may increase the more you sign up for things online.

Your best bet is do not open it! Even if you’re curious, it’s better to be on the safe side then to risk the possibility of getting a virus or even losing your identity. Some email accounts will allow you to report the message as spam. But I would only do this if you’re allowed to report it without opening it.

These scams are more popular than ever and are spreading like wildfire. Protect yourself and use your common sense whenever you’re on the internet. Don’t give out your email address to anyone unless you know who you’re dealing with.

Getting Traffic to Your Website

Hello, I hope you are having a great week. Today I’m going to talk about some ways to generate traffic to your website. Traffic is one of the most important things you need when you have a business. Even if you don’t have a business, you need traffic if you have a website, period. What would be the point in spending lots of time planning, developing, and maintaining a website if no one will see it?

One way to generate traffic is to submit your website to directories. There are literally thousands of directories out there, too many to list. You can do this yourself, which can be tedious and time consuming. But by doing it yourself, it’s also free. This can be a major deciding factor. Especially when you’re just starting out with little or no budget. You can also pay a directory service to submit your articles. This is convenient for a lot of people because it not only free’s up your time, but some directory services will submit your website to hundreds to directories. Imagine how much time that can save, so you can focus on other areas.

Submitting your website to directories lets people know that you’re on the map and builds one-way links to your website. This helps your Google pagerank. Which in turn, helps you get visitors.

Thinking of Starting a Home Business?

Hello, I hope you have had a nice week.  Today’s post I’m going to get you thinking about a home business.  Is it for you?  You be the judge. 

Starting a home business is not as simple as one may think.  Before you just jump in to it, there are many things that need to be considered.

First of all, what type of business do you have in mind?  Do you want the traditional brick and mortar business, or do you want to do business strictly online?  Perhaps you want to do both.  This is one of the first steps to consider. 

Second, do you want to sell products or services?  If you decide that you want to sell products, then what products will you sell?  Do you have an idea where you will get these products? 

Third, who will you sell these products or services to?  You need to figure out your target market.  Will they be children?  Singles?  Parents? Students? Seniors?, see what I’m saying. 

Think about some of these things before you decide to go into business.  I will be discussing more on this topic in future posts.  But in the meantime, start thinking about some of these things and what direction you would like to take.

Using Adsense to Put Ads on Your Website

A lot of you have been asking how you get advertisements on your websites.  First of all, there are many places to find advertising for your sites.  A good place to start is with Google Adsense.  Google Adsense is a free tool that places relevant ads on your website.  You don’t even have to choose the products or the ads.  Google uses keywords on your website and customizes the ads according to the content on your website.  It’s the simplest form of advertising.  The ads are constantly updated and changing.  You just choose whether you want text ads or image ads or whatever you want and just copy the code that is generated especially for you, and paste it on your website.  How cool is that. 

There are a lot of people making quite a bit of money from Adsense.  If you can get the traffic to your website, Adsense pretty much does the advertising by itself.  The only thing that your readers need to do is click on an ad and you start earning.  Of course you can earn even more $$ if they buy something through one of your ads. 

But most money making sites will tell you that Adsense is a great place to start. 

My First Build a Niche Store (a.k.a. BANS) update

Well it’s been a few days since my last post and I know some of you are wondering what’s going on. I’ve been optimizing my BANS stores and trying to generate some more traffic. It seems like traffic has slowed down tremendously on my stores. I haven’t quite figured out why. I’ve heard about the Google “sandbox effect” and wonder if that’s what’s going on with my sites. Either way I have generated at total of $39.04 so far. I started with one BANS store and over the course of 1 month I set up 7 more stores, so I have 8 stores in all.

As far as my sales, they didn’t start to appear until about 2 weeks ago. I know that Ebay recently changed from Commission Junction to Ebay Partner Network to handle their affiliate accounts. So maybe the change over had something to do with it. Either way, I was happy to see some sales. I actually had sales for about a week straight, during which I thought the ball was starting to roll for me. But then for the last 3 days, I’m showing no reported earnings. Also the number of visitors is way down, almost to a crawl.

So I’m spending more time writing articles and submitting them, and using social bookmarking such as Stumbleupon, getting backlinks, and creating new unique content on some of my pages. I’m also spending a lot of time trying to find other legitimate ways to make some money online. Since it’s best not to have all of your eggs in one basket. I also sold an article, which was fun. But I’ll write about that in a future post

My Build a Niche Store (a.k.a. BANS) Income

In case you are unfamiliar with the Build a Niche Store craze, then maybe you should consider hopping on board and make some money online, as I am doing.

Build a Niche Store is also known as BANS.  Basically, BANS is a storefront which has products for sale currently on Ebay.  I know it sounds confusing, but BANS is a website builder in which allows you to choose a niche, develop your own website, and promote products, and earn money.   As an ebay affiliate, you can promote Ebay products in exchange for a healthy share of Ebay’s revenue for each sale.   

Sound intimidating?  Well it doesn’t have to be.  I know that if I can do it, then I know you can too.   You don’t have to be an expert at anything.   I’m not very far into the whole BANS thing yet, but I can say that I’ve already made money.  I will be posting regularly regarding this topic and other interesting topics, so stay tuned.
